Quick and Easy Nail Art: Negative Space Neutral Nail Art

Hello peeps! Today's nail art is a second take on a design I did a few days ago. That one was bolder and more summer-y. You can check it out on my Instagram page here. Immediately after finishing that design I wanted to try it with a more neutral color. I liked the idea of the subtle colors with the unusual design and flash of gold.

Tools

Winstonia Berry Fine Liner Brush

Polishes used:

Zoya Spencer

Essie Good As Gold

CbL PDQ Top Coat

Steps:

This design is super simple and easy to do. I started with applying Spencer to my nail leaving not quite half of the bottom part of my nail bare. I didn't worry about it being perfect since the gold would cover up any mistakes. Spencer is a bit on the thin side so I need three thin coats to get full opacity. I then used my liner brush and freehanded a thin line of Good As Gold. I finished with a coat of PDQ Top Coat. This design took about 15 minutes tops-  and this is including drying time.

I'm really happy with how these turned out. My hands look really elegant. It's subtle but still fun and eye catching.  You could probably get away with wearing this if you work in a conservative office because of the color palette.  I like the original design - it's bright and fun. But this one is definitely my favorite of the two.

Take a look at the original design on my Instagram and let me know which you prefer in the comments!
