Abstract Black, Gold and White Nail Art

Happy Monday and Happy Martin Luther King Day everyone! One of the things that I look forward to at the begining of a new year is replacing all of my stationary. I love starting fresh with a new planner, notebook and calendar. I find it very cleansing. I could spend hours in a stationary store! On New Year's Eve I picked up two new notebooks from Target. One for the blog and one for personal. The blog one is my favorite though - it has my favorite color trio - black, gold and white. I loved the abstract pattern so much that I decided I wanted it on my nails!

Tools:

Winstonia Berry Fine Liner Brush

Polishes:

Hit the Bottle Spun Gold and Black as Knight

Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Zoya Willa

KBShimmer Clearly on Top

Steps:

This design was super easy to do: I started with two thin coats of Snow Me White. I then used my liner brush to add the black and gold lines or "slashes" with Spun Gold and Black as Knight. I then freehanded the thick black line on my ring finger using Willa and finished with Clearly on Top.

I find patterns so inspiring. You can be literal or just use them as a jumping off point for your own creation. My second planner is very different from this one: green and floral and feminine. I will probably do some nail art inspired by it as well it's so pretty!
