OPI Fall 2016 Washington DC Collection - My Picks

Hello gang! It is 56 degrees outside today. I put on tights for the first time in months...Fall is HERE! I figured now would be the perfect time to swatch and review my picks from the OPI Fall 2016 Washington DC Collection.

The details:

For swatches I used two coats for each polish and no base coat. I used my Ellage Lickety-Split Liquid Latex as my base for easy removal during swatches.

First up is Inside the ISABELLEtway, a caramel-toned neutral. The formula on this was really good. Application was smooth and I had no issues with streaks.

CIA = Color is Awesome is described on the OPI website as a dusky blue, but this reads more like a dark teal. I'm a sucker for teal so that's fine with me. Formula was a bit on the thin side but manageable and I was able to achieve full opacity with two coats.

Kerry Blossom is a deep rich plummy burgundy. This is my favorite color of the collection. It just screams Fall to me and is a really trendy color for this season. The formula was similar to CIA but a tad patchier. I was still able to get full opacity with two coats.

Squeaker of the House is a "mousy" (pun intended) dusty brown. I was on the fence about purchasing this color since I have so many that are in the same color spectrum. This one wasn't my favorite, the formula was very thin. I had issues with it bleeding into my cuticles. It surprisingly didn't apply too patchy and I still had opacity with two coats.

Yank My Doodle is described as tawny copper. It reads more as a light sienna for me. When I first looked at this in the bottle it reminded me a lot of Schnapps Out of It from the German Collection from a few years back. I think I still have that polish and if I can find it I may post a comparison of the two on Instagram. The formula was again on the thin side but manageable. I had no issues with application.

We the Female, is described as garnet on the OPI site. It's not quite red enough to be a true garnet. I was actually surprised by how much I like this one. It's a bit different from the usual OPI reds which makes it more interesting. The formula was again on the thin side but I had no issues during application.

Stay off the Lawn is a rich deep green. I am a sucker for green so I had to have this one. The formula was one of the best. Not too thin or thick and applied smoothly.

I love the theme of this collection and it's collaboration with Kerry Washington from Scandal. I opted not to get the entire collection because there colors in it that I just feel OPI has done before and weren't that exciting to me. There are two that I'm considering purchasing: Pale to the Chief and Freedom of Peach. I had them in my cart and at the last minute removed them and I kind of regret it. My faves of these picks are Kerry Blossom and CIA.  Have you picked up any colors from this collection and if so what are your faves? Let me know in the comments!
