Hi gang! I was originally not going to post anything for today's 31 Day Challenge Inspired by a Song prompt but...I had a little extra time so I decided to give it a go. This was a bit last minute so I again had zero clue what I wanted to do and spent the better part of that time just looking for something that I felt would translate well to nail art. I was scouring through my Spotify playlist when I came across the song Charged Up by Drake. The first thing that popped into my mind was the art for the song; a single charged up battery. I decided to go with it. I wound up doing not one, not two but three different versions of nail art for this! The problem was that I kept coming up with better ideas. Even this morning while brushing my teeth I looked at my nails and went "Doh! I should have done that!" But sometimes you just have to finish you know?
Medium detailing brush
Wet N' Wild Black
Butter London Jaded Jack
China Glaze Elephant Walk
Chick Polish Biker Chick
KBShimmer Clearly on Top
For this third- and final - design, I painted my nails with two coats of Black and then freehanded the small batteries using Jaded Jack, Elephant Walk and Biker Chick. I added little "spark" accents with Biker Chick. I finished with two coats of Clearly on Top to smooth everything out.
My a-ha moment this morning was that I wish I had made the "sparks" more zig-zaggy. But oh, well. I still think my little batteries came out adorable.
Have any of you ever done one nail art design multiple times, trying to get it just right? Let me know in the comments!
