What I Wore: Birthday Nail Art

*Provided for Review

Hi gang! Yesterday was my birthday and though I didn't have any major plans (I went to the movies with my Mom and saw Spy with Melissa McCarthy and did a little shopping), I had to do some fun nail art in honor of the day. I recently bought an indigo blue dress as a birthday present to myself and I wore it yesterday. I loved the color so much that I decided to match my nails (which I usually never do) to it.

It's been forever since I've used my striping tape and I was in love with the idea of blue with an accent of gold, so that's what I decided to go with!

Tools used:

Striping tape

Polishes used:

Indigo Bananas Klein Trink Wasser

Indigo Bananas A Star to Sail By

KBShimmer Clearly on Top

Steps:

I started with two coats of A Star to Sail By, a gorgeous pale rose gold flakie. Once dry I applied my striping tape and painted on two coats of Klein Trink Wasser, a vibrant indigo blue cream, and removed the tape while my nails were still wet. I skipped my ring finger, deciding to use it as my accent nail. I finished with a coat of Clearly on Top.

I love how these turned out - with just enough sparkle to make the blue pop! I would have rocked these for another day or so but I got a chip on my thumb nail at the end of the day. It was very sad.
