(TAG) Confessions of A Nail Polish Addict

I have something a little bit different for you guys today. Deborah at Love Varnish posted this TAG on her blog the other day and I loved it so much that I decided to do it and post it here for you all!

1. What nail are you wearing on your nails (and toes) right now?

I am currently wearing on my nails a polish I purchased recently,

Elevation Polish Whoa! Jackson Hole. It's a really pretty beige scattered holo with a subtle thermal shift when in sunlight. As for my toes... they are are bare after finally removing polish that I'd had on since October (hangs head in shame). I hate painting my toes! How ironic is that?

2. What is one nail product you can't live without?

Cuticle oil! My hands and nails are naturally pretty dry and I work in an office with really dry air. My cuticles need constant hydration. I usually use CND Solar Oil but just started using a cuticle oil from Emerald & Ash and so far I really like it.

3. What is your favorite nail polish brand (mainstream and indie)?

This is a toughie. I always have such a hard time choosing favorites when it comes to polish. And my favorites almost always change over time. I really love A-England- I have never been disappointed by an A-England polish - they are amazing! Currently the indie brand that has really caught my eye and that I've been buying a lot of lately is Polish My Life. As for mainstream I would have to say China Glaze and Zoya.

4. What kind of nail shape do you wear (short or long)?

I have always had nails on the longer side. They grow really fast so when I have short nails it usually means I've had a break. I try to keep my nails mid-length because they are just more manageable for me and I feel they look great with any color at that length. I have tried a lot of different nail shapes (I rocked almond on the blog for awhile), but I'm a square nail girl at heart. I like the clean look of a square nail.

5. What is your go-to color?

I love neutrals when I can't think of what to wear. I also really love teal and dusky light blues. And a soft pink holo has never disappointed either ;)

6. What is your favorite nail polish finish?

Creams. I like glitter (we have a bit of a love hate relationship) and holos but creams are definitely my faves. I love them.

7. What's on your nail polish wish list?

Oh, jeez, what isn't on my nail polish wish list would be an easier question. I have a very long wish list and I keep adding to it. I keep track of it via Pinterest. My number one wish list items are Cirque Coronation and ILNP Army Surplus.

8. When do you usually paint your nails?

I work during the day so I paint my nails when I come home from work. Usually after watching my TV shows and eating dinner. This is also when I write my blog posts and take pictures.

9. What's your top nail tip that you swear by?

Push those cuticles back - don't cut them! Also base coat, base coat and base coat.

10. What nail polish do you regret buying?

I used to buy a lot of cheaper polishes when I was younger and before I started blogging and I still have some hanging around that I just don't use and kind of just take up space. There are a few other polishes that I don't necessarily regret buying. It was more like the polish looked great on another blogger and awful on me. Then I haz a sad.

11. Neons or pastels? Brights or darks?

This one is interesting because a lot of colors that read pastel on others kind of read more like a lighter-toned neon on me. I do like neons I just don't own very many. I own a ton of pastels though. And I love a really good dark polish that has some depth and dimension to it.

12. What is your holy grail white, black and neutral polish?

I don't currently have a holy grail black or white. I love OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls but I ran out of it and never replaced it. With black and white I tend to use whatever is on hand and what is inexpensive. I don't really see the point in buying expensive polish in those colors. As for neutral whenever I don't know what to wear or am looking for a neutral I always reach for Essie Sand Tropez. It's the perfect neutral and looks great on every skintone.

13. What is one brand you want to try but haven't yet?

As mentioned before I really want to try Love, Angeline and Glam Polish. I also wouldn't mind trying Picture Polish (I don't own any -gasp!).
