Happy Monday everyone! I have a little something new for you today. Nail polish and nail art are two of my biggest loves. Another one of my loves is makeup, lipstick specifically. So I figured here would be the perfect outlet to express my love. A couple of times a month I will be featuring a "Makeup Monday" post. Borghese was kind enough to send me six colors from their Eclissare Colorstruck Lipstick collection to review for you all today.
Cusp- an orange-brown with hints of gold shimmer
Swoon- a sheer gold shimmer
Release- a neutral brick brown
Farside- a bright pink with gold and pink shimmer
Halo - a rich copper
Ecsape- bright cherry red with gold shimmer
I have tried on each color since I received them and worn three of them for the majority of a day. I generally wear liquid lipsticks because I like the wear time and that I don't have to constantly re-apply and check for feathering. The wear time on these are fairly standard for a cream lipstick. I had to re-apply after eating or drinking anything. I think this probably could have been helped if I used a lip liner but I generally don't. I am not a shimmer girl so I don't think I would wear Farside, Escape or Swoon very often but I like the idea of perhaps layering them over a a matte lipstick.
My personal faves are Cusp, Release and H.alo Release is a great everyday color and it's the kind of neautral that would work for tons of different skintones. Cusp and Halo I love for layering over darker colors for a cool ombre effect! The Colorstruck lipsticks are sold on the Borghese website and retail for $25. A bit on the steep side but the lipsticks are a good quality so they may be worth the investment.
Did any of these colors catch your eye? If so which one? Also, what do you all think of Makeup Monday?
