Plaid Nail Art with MoYou Hipster Plate 05

I have been ramping up my stamping game lately and decided to treat myself to some new stamping plates. And there is no better motivator than MoYou stamping plates! One of them I grabbed this particular plate. MoYou Hipster Plate 05, from a stamping group on Facebook. I have had this plate on my wishlist since the Hipster collection came out. It features tons of cool plaid patterns. I usually freehand my plaid nail art but the designs are so cute I had to have it.

Polishes used:

Dance Legend 358

Pueen Black in Black

KBShimmer Clearly on Top

This was a pretty straightforward stamping session: I painted my nails with two coats of Dance Legend 358, which is a gorgeous orchid color. I have fallen in love with Dance Legend's cream polishes. The formulas and colors are fantastic as is the bottle brush for application. I followed with a coat of Clearly on Top to speed up the drying process. Once dry I stamped on the image using Black in Black and covered with another layer of Clearly on Top.

The image didn't turn out as crisp and straight as I would have liked. For some reason the stamping polish and the image were just not getting along and I wound up having to redo a few nails along the way. The color combination is pretty awesome though. I love shade of purple and really wish I'd had it last year when Pantone's color of the year was Radiant Orchid!
