Flannel and Wood Lumberjack Nail Art

I always become obsessed with plaid pattern nail art during the winter months. I did a few plaid nail art designs last year (you can see them here ,and here,) but had never done a classic buffalo plaid pattern before. I don't know about you but when I think of buffalo plaid I think of lumberjacks (and hipsters, of course). Which makes me think of wood. I had to do nail art combining the two.

The tools:

Small detailing brush

Colors used:

China Glaze Adventure Red-y (base color)

Sinful Colors Last Chance

Zoya Frida

OPI A-Piers To Be Tan (base color)

OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys

The steps:

I started by painting my nails with my base colors. Once dry I used my detailing brush and Suzi Loves Cowboys to create the wood pattern on my ring and pinky fingers. For the plaid pattern I painted small squares on my nails with Last Chance. I used Frida to create the stripes. Frida is a jelly polish so it was perfect for the buffalo plaid pattern.

This design really puts me in the mood for winter. I am so not a winter person but I do love a good flannel shirt. And hot cocoa, and gingerbread lattes and cable knit sweaters. Pretty much everything but the actual winter weather!
