31DC2014: Day 22 - Inspired by A Song

I was really excited for today's prompt since I knew for awhile exactly what song I wanted to use for my inspiration. I am a huge Sia fan and have seen he in concert numerous times. She is an amazing singer and  songwriter who has written for a ton of huge music stars. She wrote Diamonds for Rihanna and Pretty Hurts for Beyonce, fyi. I personally love it when she keeps her amazing songs for herself because her voice is just beyond. I highly suggest looking up video of her singing Diamonds on YouTube - you will never hear it the same way again. The song I chose for today is Chandelier from her 1000 Forms of Fear album. The lyrics are really poignant and her voice...like I said. Beyond.

I decided to mimic the swoops of a chandelier in a nod to the title of the song. I started with two coats of Zoya Genevieve. I have to say that I wasn't a huge fan of this color when I first swatched it but it has really grown on me. I then applied a thick layer of top coat and applied my rhinestones. I mimicked the crystal drops on my index and pinky.

My top coat for some random reason had a strange reaction as it dried after I applied the stones. It began to wrinkle a bit which has never happened before, which really bummed me out since I didn't notice it until I started taking my photos.

Here are the lyrics to Chandelier and a link to the video. The girl who dances in it is amazing!

Party girls don't get hurt. Can't feel anything, when will I learn? I push it down, push it down. I'm the one "for a good time call"

Phone's blowin' up, ringin' my doorbell

I feel the love, feel the love

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, drink

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, drink

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, drink

Throw 'em back 'til I lose count

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier

I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist

Like it doesn't exist

I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier

But I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down, won't open my eyes

Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight

Help me, I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down, won't open my eyes

Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight

On for tonight

Sun is up, I'm a mess

Gotta get out now, gotta run from this

Here comes the shame, here comes the shame

On for tonight

'Cause I'm just holding on for tonight

Oh, I'm just holding on for tonight

On for tonight

On for tonight

'Cause I'm just holding on for tonight

'Cause I'm just holding on for tonight

Oh, I'm just holding on for tonight

On for tonight

On for tonight
