I was recently contacted by Firmoo to review a pair of their sunglasses and jumped at the chance. Sunglasses are kind of a big deal in my family. My mom is never without hers and growing up she had an entire collection of them - and still does. I picked up this little quirk, though my collection is nowhere near as large as hers.
I picked out this fun pair of Tortoise & Blue glasses for my review. I wanted to do something different other than modeling them since this is a nail blog afterall. I came up with a fun take on the glasses that I really love!
First, let's talk about the glasses. I am a lover of all things tortoiseshell so this was a bit of a no-brainer for me, but the thing that really got my attention was the cool teal blue gradient along the bottom of the glasses. Teal is one of my favorite colors and I loved how unique these glasses looked. Firmoo allows you to pick your own color for the tint. Tint choices include Brown, Green, Purple, Grey and Blue. I opted for a moderate brown tint since I'm not a fan of "black out" glasses. You can also select to have a prescription as well. I opted for non-prescription since I wear contact lenses.
For the nail art I created a tortoiseshell pattern using the tutorial from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails and the Elevation Polish Jelly trio, Cascade, Tette and Temperance. Once dry I used a striping brush and created a simple geometric pattern with Wet N' Wild Fergie in Miami Spirit and  black polish.
I really love how these turned out and I haven't done tortoisehell nails in a good long while so it was nice to dust off my skills!
I have worn these glasses for about a week now and I love them. I've gotten a ton of compliments on them too which is always nice. These particular Firmoo glasses start at $69. But prices can vary from as low as $23 for prescription eyeglass and sunglass lenses. Another really cool feature Firmoo offers is the ability to try the glasses out on a pic of your face before purchasing. Just upload a pic and you can try every lense out before you buy them. Check out Firmoo's website for their complete selection.
