Inspired by Fashion: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2014 - Matte Dots

I realized last week that it's been forever since I've done an Inspired by Fashion post. So I sat and trolled the interwebs for some sartorial inspiration. I found quite a few designs that I put aside for future use but this red polka dot dress from Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2014 collection stole my heart. I would totally wear this in real life as I embrace any opportunity to wear polka dots. I can in no way afford the dress but I can put dots on my nails so I figured it was the perfect inspiration for today's post! var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-41312601-1']); _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'valiantlyvarnished.com']); _gaq.push(['_setAllowLinker', true]); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);

(function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();

When I sat down to the do this I went to grab a red polish and realized that I only own one cream red polish! What the what?!  I recently did a polish purge so that is in fact the culprit. I got rid of two red creams thinking- "eh, I barely ever wear them. Which is true but I still need more than one! This is what happens when you become purge-crazed kids.
For this design I used my one and only red China Glaze Adventure Red-y. For the dots I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and the large end of my dotting tool. I used Butter London Matte Top Coat for the matte finish.
I haven't done matte dots in forever and I'd forgotten how pretty they are! This of course is continuing my current obsession with polka dot nail art...
