Contrary Polish River Market Swatch & Review

Happy almost-Friday peeps! Today I have Contrary Polish River Market to show you. This polish had been on my wishlist for awhile. I finally bit the bullet during the last Llarowe restock and grabbed it.

River Market is a dark purple jelly filled with red micro-glitter. I love dark colors with hidden shimmer so this was right up my alley. The great thing about it is that the shimmer isn't really hidden at all. It flashes on the nail quite nicely in various lighting and the only time I didn't see it was in very very low light.
The formula is on the thick side, which for a jelly can be a bit cumbersome to work with. I did have issues with dragging and patchiness but halfway through decided to make my coats thinner and allow extra dry time between. This is three coats since I still had some VNL (visible nail line) with two coats.
I am still in love with this color and wish I had gotten it sooner so I could have worn it during the winter. But since it still feels like winter here I guess it doesn't matter -ha! I am curious to see how this looks layered over a purple cream.
Contrary Polish is sold at Llarowe here in the States. Check out their website for a list of international stockists. Full sized bottles retail for $11. Minis are sold via the Contrary Polish website!
