From the moment I first laid eyes on a MoYou stamping plate it was love. I have been wanting to try one for the longest time and finally bit the bullet last week and cracked my wallet open and ordered some. When I got them I was so blown away by the artistry and the quality that I was actually a bit afraid to use them!! I wanted to frame them. I finally got up the nerve to try them out and I fell even more in love. They are fabulous!

I started with one coat of Mentality Soldier, a shimmery matte taupe. Have I mentioned how much I love Mentality's matte polishes? This is just one coat! The coverage is amazing and the finish is so gorgeous and velvety. I used the typography image from MoYou Pro Plate 07 which has amazing XL sized images. That has always been my biggest issue with stamping- finding images that completely fit my nails. I had zero issues with the MoYou plates. The images picked up perfectly. I did have to fix a couple of nails but that was due to my own impatience and not waiting long enough for my base to dry.
I will be swatching Soldier on it's own soon along with the two other Mentality mattes I recently purchased. Seriously...you guys are going to go googly eyed over them. They are gorgeous!
In other news, you may have noticed my new nail shape. I took the plunge and rounded them out, mainly due to the dry and cold weather. My nails have been having a hard time of it lately and I figured this shape would be more forgiving than my usual square/squoval shape. I was thoroughly prepared to hate this shape, but I'm surprised that I don't. I don't think it will last forever -I love my squared nails - but it's always fun to try something different. What do you all think of the dark background? I forgot how much I love a dark background for photos.
