Sponged Marble Nail Art

I've been toying around with the idea of marble nails - nails that really look like marble. While watermarbles look cool, I really wanted to do something that looked like the real deal. Last night I decided to sit down and play around with some colors and a makeup sponge and see what I got.

var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-41312601-1']); _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'valiantlyvarnished.com']); _gaq.push(['_setAllowLinker', true]); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);

(function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();

I used  Julep Meryl as my base. Then using a makeup sponge, I applied random splotches of OPI A-Piers To Be TanElevation Polish Limestone and Meryl.

I'm really happy with the end result. I'm eager to try to replicate with a few different color combinations.
