Looking Ahead in 2014

Happy New Year!! 2013 went by like lightning but when I look back so much happened this last year both personally and professionally for me (and for you all as well I'm sure). I wanted to take the time now as we start this year off to talk to you my awesome followers about my dreams, goals and ideas for this blog in 2014. When I started this blog it was on a whim. I had zero idea what I was doing. All I wanted was to learn, share and be a part of the awesome community of nail bloggers. I knew nothing about taking good pictures (I cringe when I look at my old pictures), proper lighting, promoting my blog, etc. I was still a beginner with nail art as well so each new nail art technique, design was a brand new experience for me. And one I shared with you. I am a perfectionist. I hate when things aren't exactly they way I like them. Which means most of the time I am not 100% happy with what I've posted. A sad fact. But- I am learning to let go of this slowly but surely since it does nothing for my sanity!

One thing this blog is teaching me is to follow my bliss and what interests me. It has taken me a while to figure out what I really want this blog to be but I finally have it figured out. Over the next few weeks and months you will notice some new things. I will be posting more about the things that inspire me everyday: fashion, movies, books. Don't worry, this is still a nail blog, but there are other things that I love just as much and would love to share with you all. My dream and goal is to highlight my passions through nail art. I've hinted at this with a few series that I did last year; 7 Days of McQueen and 10 days of Couture respectively. I honestly was never more excited and inspired about nail art then when I did those series and I want that feeling all the time. And I want you my readers who have been so awesome to me and my little blog to see that passion played out in hopes that it will inspire you as well.
So... here is a little bit of what you can look forward to on the blog: starting this month I will be doing a series called "Inspired by..." A little hint about what the first inspiration series will be about....it involves one of the five senses! I am so pumped for 2014 - the last few years have been pretty rough for me personally and depression has reared it's ugly head more than once. This is the first time in a long while where I feel incredibly excited about a new year and what it will bring. Happy New Year and I hope it's an amazing one for all of you!
