Seventies Retro Stripe Nail Art

TGIF!! Seriously. How is it possible that the months are flying by while the days are moving in slo-mo? But it's Friday finally and I am so ready for the weekend. I am debating whether I want to see Thor The Dark World this weekend or wait until the hoopla (and crowds) dies down and see it later. #firstworldproblems.

Today's nail art is inspired by the retro vibe of the seventies. This was before my time but whenever I see old TV shows I am always drawn to the slightly muted, dusky color palettes I see.

I used American Apparel Peacock as my base color; a gorgeous teal blue that has the perfect old-school vibe to it. American Apparel has a great selection of colors that have the dusky retro feel to them. For the stripes I used my medium detailing brush and American Apparel California Trooper and Hunter, Elevation Polish The Arches II, Chick Polish Hen House and Butter London Bumster.

I so love the look of this design. Dare I call it groovy? I know, I know. I couldn't help it!
