SoFlaJo A Snake On The Hand Is Worth Two On The Toes Swatches & Review

*Items in the post were provided for my honest review
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...! I took a bit of  unplanned time off after the 31 Day Challenge this week due to hands down the worst sinus infection I've ever had. And that's saying something since I get about two of these suckers every year! So yeah, I've basically been feeling like crap for the last four days. I have been so out of it that I am still wearing the nails I did for Day 31 of the challenge. A friend of mine said to me yesterday, "You haven't done your nails?? You must really be sick!"

Today I have pics that I had swatched last week ( and pre-nail break) and planned to post a few days ago and was too busy convalescing to get around to. SoFlaJo has come out with an awesome new Fall/Halloween Collection and was kind enough to send it to me for your viewing pleasure. The name of the collection is pretty awesome as well; all of the polishes are names after snakes. I used to be deathly afraid of snakes when I was little. Which is hysterical since I grew up in a major city so the likelihood of me encountering one was pretty slim. Check out more pics and my full review after the jump!

First up is Anaconda, a duochrome that color shifts from purple to green with flashes of silver in a holographic base. For the pics I layered two coats over a black base. The formula was great; no streaking and a very smooth application. The shift in this is gorgeous!

Black Mamba is a black jelly with bits of green holographic glitter throughout. When I first saw the name of this polish it made me think of Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill which is one of my favorite movies. It's also a green glitter which I am a sucker for. Again application was awesome. I think you could probably get away with wearing this with one on it's own with three thins coats but I layered two thin coats over black.

Diamond Back is a semi sheer yellow-gold base with large and small flecks of yellow gold glitter throughout. I wasn't sure I would like this one when I first saw it. I am not usually a yellow-gold girl, but it grew on me. Especially when I decided to layer it over a neutral base. The gold tones became really soft but still blingy. I layered two thin coats over Butter London Cuppa. Coverage was good though I did have trouble getting the larger glitter flakes onto my nail. A bit of advice is to turn the bottle upside down for a few minutes to let the larger bits re-distribute better.

Jugular Vein is brown-tinted red cream with a subtle shimmer. It does remind me of blood! This one is my second favorite of the collection. The application was smooth with no streaking or patches and it dries to a semi-matte finish. I used three thin coats for full opacity. In the photos you can kind of still see my nail line but in regular light this wasn't visible at all.

And last but not least my personal favorite, Blue Racer! This polish has such amazing depth to it; a duochrome that shifts from a blackened blue to purple with flashes of pink! I really wish I had been able to capture the shift better because it's amazeballs! I layered two coats over black for the photos. I had no issues with application. When I was editing these pics I noticed a small bald spot on my middle finger but this was my own mistake - I layered the polish over my base while it was still a bit wet. My bad.

This was my first time trying SoFlaJo polishes and I'm really impressed with the quality. I'm generally not a huge duochrome girl but I found these all to be so lovely. I want to experiment a bit more with them and layer them over colored bases - especially Blue Racer! Over a dark purple or a pink? Swoon!  SoFlaJo polishes retail for $10 a bottle and can be found on the SoFlaJo website. There is currently a 10% discount on all polishes from this collection as well!
