Woohoo! I made it. I have to be honest with you guys. I am so glad this challenge is over. Posting and doing my nails every single day is a lot of work. No joke. I don't mean to sound like I hated doing it because I didn't. It was equal parts fun and PITA. Today's final prompt is to re-create nail art done by someone else. There were a lot of bloggers who participated in the original version of the 31 day challenge and I decided to pick this design that Sarah of Chalkboard Nails did for Day 16 of the challenge.
I used three colors for this design: American Apparel Cotton and Port and Sinful Colors Black on Black. I decided to forgo using striping tape, which I regretted halfway through doing this. My hands were kind of shaky so the lines aren't as crisp as I would have liked. I used my medium and large striping brushes for the stripes and triangles. I also added my own little spin to the original design and added a triangle to the top of my middle nail. You may notice that my nails are a bit shorter. I broke down and took a bit off the top after my pinky nail went rogue and broke over the weekend. Now they don't look quite as lopsided as before.
This design is definitely one of my favorites from this past month of 31dc posts. It is simple and eye-catching all at once. My favorites of my own designs are Day 13, Day 14, Day 25 and Day 26. I feel like those designs really helped me stretch my skills and I am really proud of the ends results. What are your favorites from the Quirky 31 Day Challenge?
