I think now is a good time to reveal something about myself that I have tried to keep only within my immediate circle: I am addicted to Pinterest. There. I said it. I know that I am not the only one suffering from this affliction. I often walk past a cubicle at work to find a coworker furiously pinning on their lunch break. Our eyes meet and there is that glimmer of understanding. We nod at each other. I understand the glory of Pinterest. When I was thinking of prompts for this challenge it only seemed natural to include nail art inspired by one of the plethora of nail art pins floating around on Pinterest. There are so many to choose from. I decided to narrow down my criteria and thin the herd by picking something by a blogger I love and that would be something I haven't done before. I used this pin as my inspiration. Kelsie's Nail Files is one of the blogs I follow. I love the nail art Kelsie comes up with. The girl is just crazy talented and I loved her freehand Eiffel tower so much I had to re-create it.
For this design I decided to learn from yesterday's lesson and I busted out the black and white acrylic paint. I painted my nails with two coats of LynBDesigns Pinkmalion, one of my favorite pink polishes. I painted on the stripes and free-handed the Eiffel Tower with my detailing brush.
So I don't want to sound too full of myself here but yeah... I feel like I crushed this one. And I very rarely feel that way. My Eiffel tower actually looks like an Eiffel tower! My pride in this knows no bounds. I fully expected it to look like a black splotch with legs. If it does in fact look like a splotch to you, you can just keep that to yourself. No one likes a buzzkill!
