Happy Friday gang! I was really looking forward to today's challenge. Watercolor is if not my favorite, one of my favorite nail art techniques. It's relatively easy and it's a great way to introduce yourself to freehand nail art without a lot of pressure for thing to be perfect.
I knew I wanted to do an impressionist-type design for today's prompt. Impressionism is my favorite art style. I am a huge Monet, Renoir fan. This design started out being inspired by a beautiful watercolor flower painting I saw online, but things kind of got away from me and I decided to just go with it and see what I got. I used a lot of colors for this so I will just list them:
Sinful Colors Snow Me White (base color)
Illamasqua Baptiste (flowers)
American Apparel L'Esprit (flowers)
Butter London Bumster (yellow buds)
China Glaze Budding Romance (green grass)
China Glaze Manhunter (sky; blended with Snow Me White)
Seche Vite Restore Nail Polish Thinner (to thin all colors and create "watercolor" effect)
The end result of this is actually better than what I had originally planned on doing. Yay me! This took a lot of time to complete but it was a lot of fun to do. It reminded me of being a kid in art class and just splotching colors together.
