Quirky 31 Day Challenge Day 11 - Art Deco

Okay, here we go! We are officially into the second part of the challenge today where the things become more challenging. Today's prompt is Art Deco. I lurv Art Deco nail art but wanted to stay away from the common color schemes of gold and black or green and black. Purple can be such a luxe color so I figured it would make a great alternative. This gave me the chance to use a polish that a friend of mine gave me awhile ago and that I am ashamed to say I have only used sparingly for nail art: Illamasqua Baptiste!

I had forgotten how gorgeous Baptiste is! A seriously stunning polish. This design took a good amount of time. Luckily I had planned ahead and had a good idea of where I was going with this one, which honestly hasn't been the case with most of the nail art I've done for this challenge so far. My Type A personality likes this much better! I started by painting my nails with three thin coats of OPI Glitzerland. Once dry I applied my striping tape. I then painted on two coats of Baptiste and carefully removed the tape with tweezers while the polish was still wet.

I am so happy with how this turned out. Totally worth the time! I was originally going to do this design on both hands - ambitious, I know - but wanted to showcase Baptiste on it's own so it plain and painted.

Things get really interesting from here gang- I'm excited/nervous to see what I can come up with!

Check out what the other ladies came up with for Day 11!
