Hi lovelies! So if you read this blog on a fairy regular basis then you know how much I love polka dots and rose print designs. I honestly can't get enough of them. Lately I've been thinking of ways to mix and match these two patterns in various colors and one that kept popping into my head is pink and peach. Random combo, I know, but I felt it would just work in some weird way. And it does! I am so in love with how this design turned out. I love the retro feel of it. It reminds me of old wallpaper you'd find in your grandmother's house. In a good way!
For my base color I used American Apparel Coney Island, a pale bubblegum pink. I then added dots using Lime Crime Milky Ways. Once dry I used my nail art brush and Avon Tangtastic, Wet N' Wild Blazed and China Glaze Peachy Keen for the roses. The leaves were done with China Glaze Budding Romance.
I love how these turned out, though I'm bummed that the dots looks so pale and muted against the peach and pink. Next time maybe I will use a plain white to help them pop. Now the questions is: Do I mattify these or not? What do you all think, shiny or matte? If I decide to matte them I will post pics on my Instagram page for you all to see!
