Hi gang! It's Artsy Wednesday time again and today's theme is "Inspired by a Designer". I love to do nails based on fashion since I am a bit obsessed with it. I did a challenge not too long ago that featured nail art inspired by some of my favorite designers. You can check out a few of the designs here, here, and here. Unfortunately this is another crazy busy week for me so I wasn't able to go all out on this challenge. Today's design is a quick and dirty interpretation of a dress from Elie Saab's 2014 Resort Collection. Let me just say that this entire collection is fierce and amazing and I saw so many pieces that I wanted to try and replicate. I may have to do another Designer Nail Art series because so far the new Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 collections I have been seeing are amazing!
I love the combination of beige or nude with vibrant colors like coral so choosing this for my inspiration was a no-brainer for me. I started by painting my nails with two coats of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons. I then used my detailing brush and painted on geometric triangles using Avon Tangtastic. I would have done this with striping tape to make my lines more crisp but I simply didn't have the time to wait for everything to dry.
This isn't as perfect as I would have liked but it still came out pretty lovely and was exactly what I pictured in my mind so that's always a good thing.
