Artsy Wednesday and OPI Week - Sewn Patchwork Nail Art

Hey gang! Today is Artsy Wednesday. Our theme for this week is sewn patches. I wanted to stay with my OPI-themed week so all colors used for this nail art are OPI. I've ony done sewn patches nail art once before but I was excited to try it out again using some different colors and patterns.

I started by painting my nails with two coats of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons, one of my all-time favorite neutrals. I then painted on random shapes with My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I did a heart shape on my middle finger for variation and just because it's cute. I used a dotting tool and detailing brush to apply dots and stripes with Don't Pretzel My Buttons and Skulls & Glossbones. I used the same detailing brush and Black Onyx for the stitches.

I am really happy with how this design turned out. It's seriously adorbs! I was originally going to mattify my nails but I really love it shiny and decided to skip the matte top coat.
