Happy Friday all! We are nearing the end of Indie Polish week with one of my all-time favorite indie brands, Pahlish. I first came across this brand last winter when Shannon; it's creator, released her 12 Days of Christmas Collection. I fell in love with the collection and I've been a fan ever since. I decided to show you guys two of the polishes I purchases from that collection as well as my favorite polish from her Coney Island Queen Collection, released in February.
First up is the titular polish from the Spring Coney Island Queen Collection, Coney Island Queen. CIQ is a nude crelly base with gold microflakes throughout.I love polishes like this. A great neutral but with a little something special. The formula is great though it does apply pretty sheer. I needed three coats for full opacity.
Partridge In A Pear Tree is one of the polishes I picked up from the Christmas Collection. A sheer beige jelly with red/copper shimmer and burgundy and green hex and and square glitter. This one reminds me of speckled eggs. Glitter coverage with this polish is great. I had no need to fish for glitter and it applied evenly across the nail. This polish is very sheer so it works well for layering. I personally love the way it looks on it's own, but it took me four thin coats to achieve full opacity.
Five Gold Rings had a long distance love affair for some time. I would stare at it longingly on my computer and it would whisper, "You know you want me." But my wallet would whisper, "No you don't!" And for a time the wallet won out. I then decided to throw financial caution to the wind one day and purchase it. To my absolute sadness and devastation the one bottle I had ogling for weeks was gone. I e-mailed Shannon on a whim one day and asked if she maybe, possibly had one last bottle? And she did! Five Gold Rings is a stunner! A blackened bronze-olive jelly with tons of gold glitter flakes. This polish was on the thick side for me so I used a little thinner to thin it out. After that it was smooth sailing with two coats for opacity and no issues.
