Animal Print Week - Marañón Poison Frog

Happy Monday all and Happy Memorial Day to everyone here in the States. I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday! Today is the first day of Animal Print Week and my design is based on an animal that I saw via Google a couple of months ago. I am so not a reptile love but the design on the Marañón Poison Frog (also known as Rana Venenosa) was just so gorgeous that I knew I wanted to eventually do nail art based on it. This little guy is endogenous to Peru. Unfortunately it is also an endangered species due to habitat loss.

I originally was going to use a brown creme polish for this design but I felt it would have been too dull against the white spots, so I used Elevation Polish Tettegouche (known named just Tette) which is a dark brown jelly. I used three coat for full opacity. Once dry I applied splotches of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I made sure the spots were not symmetrical or uniform since they aren't on the actual froggy. I then used my cut down detail brush to add light gray rings around the spots using Julep Meryl. I did this because the spots on the frog have a sort of grey-ish translucent ring around them.
I wish these had turned out a tad bit darker but I love how organic the spots look. What do you guys think? Isn't the froggy adorable?
