Tortoiseshell Print - as seen on Chalkboard Nails

Hey all. Happy Friday! This week has flown by for me which is a good thing because it's been a weirdly busy week. I don't know about you guys but when my weekday routine is thrown off I am not a happy camper.

Today's design was inspired by one of Sarah at Chalkboard Nails'  designs. She did this amazing design  awhile back and I ooohed and ahhhed and drooled over it like I do with most of  her stuff. At the time, the brown jelly polishes she used weren't available for purchase so I didn't even think of attempting it. But then Elevation Polish (who created the polishes Sarah used) released the brown jellies as a trio this past January - so I was all over that! I followed Sarah's tutorial, which you can find here.

The three colors used for this design are Elevation Polish, Cascade (a brick-red brown jelly), Temperance (a caramel brown jelly) and Tettagouche (a dark chocolate brown jelly).

I was really surprised at how easy this design was. It looks super complicated which is kind of awesome. I wore this all day yesterday and had people grabbing nails and asking how I did it. It's always fun to impress people with your nail art skills, right?

The Brown Jelly trio is no more- but you can still purchase the three polishes separately from Elevation Polish. They retail for $7.50 each.
