HEX Nail Jewelry and The Balm I Take My Coffee Matte Black

Happy Monday guys! Can I just point out how quickly this weekend went by? I had a three day weekend and I don't know where it went! I spent my Friday hanging out with family and went to see G.I. Joe Retaliation (which was surprisingly good) with my brother, and ran errands on Saturday. I don't celebrate Easter so I had nothing special to do on Sunday and spent the day relaxing watching old Fringe (I love that show!) episodes and swatching.  I did manage to haul some pretty awesome polishes this weekend that I will be showing you all soon.

Today's post is a mani using Hex Nail Jewelry. I first learned about Hex via Sarah at Chalkboard Nails. She did an amazing post featuring some of their stuff and I just had to order some for myself. Hex specializes in 14K gold plated nail jewelry that can be reused.

This also gave me a chance to use one of the colors I purchased from The Balm I Take My Coffee Matte Black. Let me get the gushing out of the way: I love love love this polish! Seriously. Love. The finish isn't a flat matte but more of a "rubberized" finish. The formula is fantastic; full opaqueness with just one coat. I used two but I didn't really need to. I did a gold glitter accent nail with China Glaze I'm Not Lion.

I purchased five pieces of nail jewelry from Hex. This VIP piece is one of my favorites. I applied using a small bit of nail glue. I don't usually use nail glue when applying 3D pieces to my nails but I don't want to lose this! The great thing about each of the Hex pieces is that they are curved to fit flush against the nail. This piece didn't fit completely flat but I think it has to do with how curved your nails actually are.
I love how this mani looks! Black is still my favorite nail polish color and paired with gold it is so cool looking and bad ass!
You can buy Hex Nail Jewelry directly from their Etsy shop. Each piece retails for $1.75. The Balm Hot Ticket Nail Polish is sold online and at various stores. I purchased mine from Nordstrom. Bottles retail for $10.
