10 Days of Couture Nail Art Challenge Day 7 - Inspired by Giambattista Valli

Hey gang! We're heading into the home stretch of the challenge. Today's nails are inspired by a design by Giambattista Valli. His designs are amazeballs. If you are unfamiliar with his name or work he designed Jessica Biel's pink wedding dress! He's also worn on the red carpet a lot by actresses like Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman, Diane Kruger and Natalie Portman to name a few. I had the hardest time deciding on what I wanted to use as my inspiration because there are just so many beautiful dresses to choose from!  I finally settled on this one because it's beautiful and I loved the idea of replicating the croc print down the front.

This design gave me the chance to finally use my Barry M Croc Effects polish. I had swatched it once before when I first got it but it's basically been languishing in my untrieds pile. And it matches the croc print on the dress perfectly! I started by painting my nails with two coats of Sally Hansen X-treme Wear in White On. I then painted on Croc Effects while my nails were touch dry, but not completely dry (per the instructions) in a non-uniform stripe down the center of my nails. The effect takes about 3 minutes to show up. Once it had dried I applied my top coat.
