Happy Friday gang! Today's nails are based on a dress by L'Wren Scott. She has dressed everyone from Jennifer Lawrence to Nicole Kidman. I would characterize her designs as... womanly. Her collections are varied in theme and design but they are for women who love to look like women and not girls. If that makes always sophisticated, flattering and sexy. The dress I chose for this challenge has a simple silhouette but the beading and color are amazing.
I wanted to recreate the gradient but I had a small problem: I was out of the makeup sponges I normally use for gradients. So I decided to improvise. I painted my nails with my base color, OPI Panda-monium Pink. I then added a generous dab of Sinful Colors Starfish,Wet N' Wild Fergie Collection Grammy Gold and Panda-monium Pink. While still wet I applied Savina Flash in light strokes, blending the colors together. I topped it off with a coat of SV. The result is a bit thick but had intended effect.
I love the way this turned out. The effect is subtle and pretty and soft. I kind of want to re-visit this technique and tweak it a bit since it was so easy and created such great results.
