10 Days of Couture Nail Art Challenge Day 4 - Inspired by Elie Saab

Happy hump day guys. Day 4 of the challenge brings one of my favorite designers, Elie Saab. I could seriously wear an Elie Saab dress everyday of the week. I would do laundry in it, go grocery shopping, go to work. People would look at me and say "Why is that woman always in an evening gown?"  I had such a hard time picking just one dress as my inspiration. Ultimately I chose this one because of the gorgeous detailing. Seriously, how gorgeous is this dress?!

I actually bought the base color for this design, Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear in Breezy Blue, late last week on a whim when Walgreens was having a sale on Sally Hansen nail polish. It matches the dress color perfectly. Serendipity is a wonderful thing! I started with two coats of Breezy Blue and then applied a coat of SV to speed up drying. I then applied a haphazard layer of OPI Liquid Sand Honey Ryder along the sides of my nail to the middle of the tip. While still wet I applied ripped up pieces of gold foil from Born Pretty Store with nail art tweezers. I lightly tapped the foil in place and the added a second coat of SV.

I love the textured 3-D look of this. And the color combo is so delicate and pretty.
