Saturday Sunday! I was supposed to post this yesterday but my sinuses had other plans. I had an insane amount of nail mail over the last few weeks and most of them were indie brands so I decided to dedicate a post to all of them. This also gave me the chance to use a bunch of untrieds. I found some new faves in the process too! This post is pic heavy so click read more after the jump!
First up is Tough as Nails Builder's Tea. Builder's Tea is a semi-sheer bronze brown base with small copper glitter and large round copper glitter. This is a gorgeous color! It was more opaque than I was anticipating from the way it looks in the bottle. I used two coats for opacity. The formula is great- no streaks or patchy spots.
Magdalene's Laundry Service is a frosty sheer pink with small and large rose pink glitter. This polish is pretty sheer, you could probably achieve opacity on it's on but would need at least 3 or 4 coats. I opted to layer it over Sinful Colors Starfish. The formula was pretty much the same as Builder's Tea- no streaks or patches. I don't usually like frost finishes but I'm kind of in love with this polish.
This polish is a bit different than the rest in this post. It is an unnamed custom polish courtesy of Becca at Franken Femme. She asked me what kind of polish I wanted and I said green glitter. This is the result! I am really impressed with glitter coverage of this polish. I only need two coats for the pics. Unfortunately Becca is not selling her polishes- yet. I say bug we all her until she changes her mind-ha!
Forest of Feelings is a fun glitter topper by D and R Apothecary (formerly known as HitPolish). FOF is a clear base with chocolate brown, copper, green round and square glitter and red hearts. I love this polish! I especially love it layered over China Glaze Budding Romance. This was an unexpected pairing that I went for and I really like how it turned out. Glitter coverage of FOF was great, though I did have to do some fishing for the hearts. I used one dabbed on coat for the pics.
On Angels Wings is a stunner! I've had my eye on this one for awhile and am so glad I finally bought it. OAW is a semi sheer milky white base with small and medium sized gold glitter and fine glitter particles throughout. I love love love this polish! Coverage was awesome- I only need two coats for opacity which is a rarity for milky bases.
Model City Dipping Chocolate is a brown scattered holo. Yeah- that's right. A chocolate brown holo! The only other chocolate brown holo I know of is Layla Coffee Love- which has been on my wish list forever. I think DC is an awesome - and more affordable- alternative. The formula of this polish was amazing - two coats for full opacity.
Contrary Polish Feels Like Home is a dusky purple/taupe with pink microglitter. This is such a pretty polish. The formula on this one was great- I had great coverage with two coats. I love how subtle and soft this color is. My Mom- who hates glitter- wants to borrow this polish. I guess I would call it a "grown-up" glitter polish. Though I personally think glitter is for all ages!
Hayride is a another beauty from Contrary Polish. A tan brown with copper-brown flecks. Formula was almost exact to Feels Like Home. I have a thing for nude-ish browns with glitter so this one was a must-have for me. Again- my Mom fell in love with polish. This polish can look lighter or darker depending on the light.
Dandy Nails Bound to Fall is a beautiful moody murky gray with gray flecks throughout. This polish reminds me of smoke or fog. This is only the second Dandy Nails polish I've purchased but I am really impressed with the quality and formulas. Coverage was great- I used two coats for the pics.
Phew! I think this is the longest post I've ever done! Do you have any favorites from this bunch? If you're interested in purchasing one or more of these gorgeous shinies, listed below are prices and links!
