Happy Monday all! Today is the first day of the McQueen Challenge. I was really excited to start this and was even more excited to do this design since it is based on one of my favorite dresses from McQueen from the Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Check out my pics and their inspiration- after the jump!
This fabulous confection was my inspiration. Isn't it darling? I seriously would wear this every singe day if it was in my closet. But alas, it is beyond, beyond my price range! Ha! The moment I saw this dress I wanted to try and create a nail design based on it.
The actual idea for this had several versions but since the colors are so bold I decided to pare down my original idea. This was after testing it out on one hand and going, "Blech! That's fugly!" For the red base I used two coats Butter London Pillar Box Red, for the black tips and roses I used OPI Black Onyx. The rose image is from BM Plate 09. I free-handed the black tips using a small striper brush.
What do you think? Does it remind you of the red McQueen confection of loveliness?
