Holiday Sweater Nails

I have a bonus post for you all today! While doing my frosted chocolate nails for Artsy Wednesday I had another idea for holiday-inspired nails. Holiday sweaters have the ability to be either either really cool or really hideousness. I then to like the sweaters that lean more towards being "winter-inspired" than holiday inspired as the colors are less garish and the designs more subtle.  I wanted a more sophisticated look so I chose to go with only two colors.

I started with two coats of OPI Light My Sapphire. I haven't used this color in ages and had forgotten how absolutely gorgeous it is. I almost gave up on doing the design because I loved it by itself so much. For the sweater design itself I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in White Out  and two stamping plates. BM 014 for the snowflake and Born Pretty stamping plate M57 for the trims. The Born Pretty stamp is a dupe for the Konad stamp and I found myself having the hardest time getting the images to transfer properly. The tiny details just didn't want to show up and I wound up having to redo a couple of nails more than once. I then topped off the design with a coat of SV.

Despite the stamping hiccups, I really like the way these turned out. They are fun and festive without being over the top. Do any of you own holiday sweaters?
