Happy Wednesday all! Hope your week is going by quickly and smoothly. Today's Artsy Wednesday theme is the"tape mani". I have loved painting my nails since I was a little girl, but the tape mani was my first foray into nail art. I saw this on Chloe's Nails and it pretty much rocked my world. The scotch tape method is probably the most popular "tape" method. But striping tape is just as easy to use - especially when doing a design that calls for thinner lines. I decided to break out my striping tape for this design.
I started with two thin coats of American Apparel T-Shirt. Once the nails were completely dry I added on my pieces of striping tape. I do one nail at a time when using striping tape. It takes longer but there is less chance of oopsies. Using a makeup sponge, I sponged on OPI Black Onyx, Julep Meryl and T-Shirt. I then removed the striping tape.
You can find striping tape at nail supply shops and online. I get mine from Born Pretty Store for under $2 plus free shipping. If you decide to order don't forget to use my Promo Code PSL91 to save 10% on your order!
