Hi all! I feel like it's been forever since my last nail post though it was only Wednesday - not counting my October haul post. I always feel weird when I go longer than a day not posting something. I'm still suffering from a bit of "nail art" imagination block which blows. I tend to lean towards my go to color of black polish when I go through a phase like this so today's nail art of course features that as the main color. Born Pretty Store was nice enough to ask me to do a review of a product for their website and since I have been dying to try "glequins" on my nails I opted to review these. I have been shopping on Born Pretty pretty much since I started this blog. They have pretty much everything you can think of in the nail art department and their prices are pretty hard to beat -plus free shipping.
For this design I used the light pink "glequins" that came in the 12 pot multi-pack I was given to review. I started with two coats of OPI Black Onyx. While the second coat was still wet I applied the glequin. I used the sharp end of my orange stick dipped in water to apply them one by one. Once they were all in place I applied a thick coat of OPI Rapid Dry Top Coat. I wish I had chosen a different color for this design because this was a pain to photograph but in person the color really pops.
The glequins were super easy to apply and you get a ton of them in the tiny plastic pots they come in. I would highly suggest putting something down on your work space that you can just ball up and toss like paper or foil perhaps. I had a little spill and glequins were everywhere!
The 12 pot multi-pack is sold for $6.45. Born Pretty was kind enough to offer a 10% discount to my readers. Just use promo code PSL91 during checkout. Shipping is free on all orders as well!
