Happy Friday eve! So, I have been rocking the short nails (aka nubbins) for almost a week now and I have to say that I prefer them when it comes to my vampy fall colors and nail art. There is just something so clean and neat about nail art on shorter nails. I might feel differently in a couple of weeks when they've grown out and my beloved long nails return but as of now I'm digging them.
My nubbins have inspired me to try a few nail techniques that I have wanted to try and just never got around to. One of those on my "to try" list is the spun sugar mani. I have seen so many of awesome spins on this technique. I also wanted a break from my standard dark fall colors (I do love them so) and decided to do something light and fun.
I started with a base of one coat of Orly Decades of Dysfunction and one coat of Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air. For the spun sugar detail I used Glamour House Light Pink, American Apparel T-Shirt, and Essie Lapis of Luxury. I wanted GITA to peep through the spun sugar strips but it got lost unfortunately. I love the texture of this mani. I keep running my thumbs over my nails.
