Betsey Johnson Roses

Hi lovelies! All I can say about today is "brrrr". Seriously crazy weather we are having right now in Chicago. It was 70 degrees on Sunday. Today? 40. It is days like this that makes a girl feel good that she has her polish to keep her warm. Ha!

So, I have been holding on to this one scrap of Betsey Johnson tissue paper that came in a package I got over the summer. It's so pretty that I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away. When I moved into my new place last month it came with me and has been neatly folded in my hallway closet ever since. Last night when trying to decide what design I wanted to do the paper popped into my head. A truly "a ha!" moment, very quickly followed by a "duh" moment. Why did it take me this long to figure this out? This design gave me the opportunity to do my first freehand roses. And of course, an excuse to use my Butter London Matte Finish Top Coat again.

I started with one coat of OPI Black Onyx. Then using a nail art brush I added blobs of Butter London Primrose Hill Picnic. I then used a smaller brush to add Orly Decades of Dysfunction and Butter London Snog to create depth to the roses. For the leaves I used Revlon Posh and Savina You;re My Sunshine. To mimic the matte paper I used my Butter London Matte Finish.

Posing with my inspiration. LOVE this print so much!
