Hi lovelies! Today is Artsy Wednesday and our theme for today's challenge is the Jelly Sandwich. Imagine my horror when I realized that I don't actually own a jelly polish. Now, I own jellies with glitter in them but most of them are dark and the whole point of the jelly sandwich is to "sandwich" glitter between plain jelly polish. So I had to fudge it a bit and used a light-colored cream and a sheer "crelly" (a sheer cream that can be mistaken for a jelly).
I started with two thin coats of Butter London Artful Dodger, which is a great light blue-green.I then strategically applied a layer of OPI The Living Daylights. Once dry, I then added on two coats of Revlon Sheer Seafoam. Sheer Seafoam is a milky sheer seafoam green crelly. It's a peculiar color- it has pigment to it in the bottle but it is really hard to get the color to translate onto the nail. It created more of a "trapped in glass" effect over the glitter.
I do love like the look of this, but it's also made me realize that I need more jellies in my life! If any you have any favorite jelly polishes please let me know in the comments section. And to my fellow US nail lovers- have a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. Gobble, gobble!
