Hi all! The polish I have to show you today is an oldie but a goodie. The Orly Metal Chic collection was originally released in 2009. It featured three metallic matte finish polishes; Iron Butterfly (a metallic charcoal gray), Glam Rock (a dark bronze) and Solid Gold (a burnished metallic Gold). Solid Gold was the one I had my eye on and I finally found it at one of the wholesale nail supply shops not far from my neighborhood. I am in the process of moving and I actually factored in the proximity of my new apartment to my beloved nail supply shops. Is that weird?
I love this polish! Love, love, love it! It's so nice when a polish on your wish list lives up to your expectations and this one lived up to mine in spades. The formula is thin. Which normally with a polish is a pain but with matte polish, which usually leans toward the thicker side, was very nice and made it very easy to apply. I was able to build up coverage with three thin coats. And no streaks or visible brush strokes! The finish reminds me a lot of the OPI Suede collection; matte but with a bit of texture to it. I am really loving the formula of Orly polishes and want to add more of them to my stash. They have great colors and formulas.
The Metal Chic collection is still available, but may be a bit hard to find. It's totally worth the hunt though! Orly retails for $8.50 and is sold at Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply and Orly's own website.
