Swatch It Saturday - American Apparel Part 2 The Brights

Hi all! Sorry for the late post. I spent the day hanging out with my Mom and my brother's girlfriend Amanda, today. I did her nails, which was my first time doing anyone else's nails and I'm pretty proud of how they came out. I painted them China Glaze For Audrey, which happens to be one of my favorite CG colors.

Better late than never, I have part two of the American Apparel nail colors I picked up recently. These are the brights of the bunch.

Up first is Port. Port is a dark burgundy cream. It has a dusky feel to it which I really love. Coverage is pretty good. This is two coats with no top coat.
MacArthur Park is my favorite of this bunch. It is a weird yellow mustard green. I love fugly colors like this, and like Port it has a retro vibe to it. It makes me think of colors people wore in the 70's with bell bottoms. Awesome formula; two coats and no top coat.
Hunter is a dark "hunter" green- hence the name. I love greens, especially dark ones. The formula on this was a little runny. I had a lot of polish on my brush and had to take some off between every nail, but again the coverage was pretty good. Again, two coats and no top coat.
Lopez Canyon is a pretty burnt orange. It comes across far more red in photos than it actually is. The formula was very similar to Hunter and a bit runny, but still had great coverage. Two coats and no overcoat.
Army Jacket is a soft, dusky olive green. I was supposed to have included it with the neutrals but completely forgot. So, here it is. Better late than never is apparently my motto for this post. A great formula- two coats and no top coat.
American Apparel polishes are sold online and in stores. And retail for $6. Sadly, MacArthur Park has been discontinued but you might still be able to find it in stores, which is where I found it.
