LDTTWC Day 4 - Lights, Camera, Action!

Hi all! We are on Day four of The Let's Do The Time Warp Challenge. Today's challenge is to create a design based on a nostalgic piece of music, literature or film. My design is inspired by the movie Clueless. This film came out when I was a teenager and it very quickly became an obsession for me. I knew - and still know actually- every line verbatim in this film. If you want to have an idea of how I dressed as a teen all you have to do is watch the movie. I had a serious addiction to plaid and pleated skirts and everything matched. Since Cher, the lead character, (played by Alicia SIlverstone) wears plaid throughout the film it only made sense to me that my nails had to be plaid. Let me say that I am not one hundred percent happy with how today's design turned out. I wound up having to do my nails late last night before bed and between my general exhaustion and my sinus headache it was just not a good night for me. I sat down at my table having a good idea of what I wanted to do but the picture in my mind is not what wound up on my nails. Oh, well. You win some you lose some.

For the design I started off with two coats of China Glaze Exotic Encounters. For the black and white stripes I used Claire's Nail Art Double-end Striping Brush in White and Black. I then used a coat of Seche Vite. I was originally going to use yellow but my sinus headache was telling me I couldn't handle the brightness. The stripes are different on each nail which I kind of like. Next time I attempt this I think I will try a more uniform look.

For those of you who haven't heard of the film or seen it (as if!). Here is a still from the film. Note the massive amounts of plaid.
