Let me start off by saying I love polka dots. Love. So, my ideas for this challenge were plentiful. A little too plentiful. Like staring at a closet full of clothes and finding nothing to wear. "Keep it simple, stupid", is a popular phrase for a reason, and so that is what I did. I picked a color combo that I love and that always looks great together. I opted to use my current favorite polish (I'm a bit obsessed with this color at the moment, I keep trying to work it into every design I do), American Apparel California Trooper and for my favorite polish color, Black, I used OPI Black Onyx. Black Onyx has languished in my stash unused for some time and I have no idea why. It's an awesome black cream. I alternated the colors doing two black accent nails. I can't help smiling when I look at my nails- polka dots are just so cute!
As for the PVA Glue base coat test I spoke about in my last post I wore the polish for a full day and found that I had quite a bit of tip wear. I spend a lot of time clicking away at a computer keyboard at work, but the tip wear looked more like a few days' wear. I have read other bloggers' post about how the polish kind of "cracked" off the nail with little to no damage but that was not the case for me. The glue felt soft and pulled a bit at the nail. I pulled off what would come off easily and then used acetone to remove the rest. I'm tempted to try this again with just straight glitter (as opposed to a layered glitter look) to see if maybe this was the issue.
