Ruffian Manicure

Happy Monday. I hope everyone had a great weekend. My birthday was Friday and I spent it enjoying a double feature. I saw Snow White and the Huntsman -which was great and then Prometheus-which was good, though I don't think it lived up to all of the hype. Sunday, my girlfriends took me out to dinner as a belated birthday gift. So it was a fun weekend. On to the nails!

Ruffian manicures have been everywhere lately, so of course I had to try one for myself. I opted for darker colors for my ruffian. I don't normally gravitate towards matte polish as it's a pain to maintain and apply and get an even finish, but I thought a dark matte polish with silver polish would look great together. I used two coats of OPI Russian Navy Matte and for the base and Wet N' Wild Mega Shine in Metallica for the edging. I didn't have any french manicure guides so I decided to free hand the trim using a small nail art brush. No top coat was applied because I wanted to keep the matte finish.
