NOTD: Muted Glitter Sandwich

TGIF! I don't know if this applied to everyone else but my week dragged, so I am especially happy today is Friday. Does anyone have any fun weekend plans? I'm planning on going to see the new Pixar film, Brave. Lots of fun movies opening this weekend. I really want to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Magic Mike as well. Not a Channing Tatum fan but the movie has plenty of other hotties in it. Anyway...the nails are what you came to read about right?

I have been playing around with glitter sandwiches a lot lately and they never turn out how I think they will. This one was no exception. I was going more for a jelly sandwich-esque look without the jelly. What I got was something altogether different but really pretty.

I started with two light coats of Essie Marshmallow, followed by a light coat of Color Club Wish Upon a Rock Star, which is a multicolor glitter in clear jelly. I then used one coat of Essie Real Simple followed by a coat OPI Isn't That Precious. The result does have that "trapped" glitter feel like a jelly sandwich but the glitter is muted- almost matte.A coworker of mine said she loved that it was blingy without being blingy. So I guess I will call this my muted bling mani! After taking my photos and through them I realized that this mani reminds me of Pretty & Polished's Jawbreaker glitter polish. I have a review of it from an old post here.
