Studded Up

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and Mother's Day. Mine was pretty low-key. I went to see St. Vincent in concert Friday night, which was awesome. If you have never heard her music I highly recommend checking her out. On to the nails...

My favorite nail color is black. A close second would be white. Boring I know but black nails can look really elegant or really edgy depending on what you do with them. One of my favorite ways to wear black nail polish is with gold micro beads. Today I thought I'd switch it up and do gold studs instead. I recently ordered some very small studs on the website Born Pretty. They have great nail art  accessories. I got the studs used for this manicure for a little over $5. They also offer free shipping. I debated doing white and black nails but decided to just do black and the studs on every other nail. I started with OPI Natural Base Coat and then used one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black, which so far is my favorite black. It goes on evenly and isn't sheer like some blacks tend to be. After the first coat dried completely I painted on the second coat and then began adding the studs. I applied them using nail art tweezers. After applying each one I gave them a gentle tap just to make sure that they were in place. I then topped all of my nails with OPI Rapid Dry Top Coat. I am right-handed and always have issues applying things with my left hand. As you can see from the photos, the left hand is far superior symmetrically speaking!
