Happy Hump Day! Today I am swatching a polish from the China Glaze collection inspired by the Hunger Games called Capitol Colors. The two colors that immediately caught my eye when the collection was released in February were Fast Track and Smoke and Ashes. I haven't been able to get my hands on Smoke and Ashes as everywhere I go it is sold out. But my local nail supply shop said they would have it back in stock soon and when they do I will post a review of it. I was able to get my hands on Fast Track, which is a beautiful nude with gold shimmer. I usually find myself loving nude colors more in the bottle than on my hand but this color was an exception. The first coat goes on pretty sheer and it took me 3 coats to get the opaque color in the photos below. But the formula is great. No streaks, which is hard to avoid sometimes with shimmery colors. The gold in this polish is fantastic. The lights picks it up wonderfully and when I tried a few shots with my camera in dim light and just the flash it still picked it up wonderfully. The more I look at it the more it reminds me of sun-kissed wheat. There is a similar color in the collection that has glitter in it called Harvest Moon. I might pick that one up just to swatch and compare. I topped the three coats of FT with a thick coat of Seche Vite.
The first two pics was taken under lamp light. They are pretty true to what the color is like in the bottle and on my hand.
This photo I took with the flash on. You can really see how the light picks up the gold shimmer. So pretty!
