Hi all! This is the very first post for this blog and I am very excited about it. I have been obsessed with nail polish since I was a little girl. I started wearing it when I was about 8 years-old. I was only allowed to wear soft pinks and tans- no red as my mother thought it was too grown up. I recently began experimenting with nail art and decided this would be a great way to share my ideas, tips, and experiences as well as product reviews. Today's post features OPI's Thanks a Wind Million from their Spring 2012 Holland Collection. This color is gorgeous! It is a dusky blue-green that can look blue is some light and green in others. I tried to capture the color with my photos and tried various lighting sources (natural and camera flash) but couldn't capture it as well as I would have liked. The first coat went on a bit streaky as the formula is a bit thin, but by the second coat it had evened out nicely.
I then topped it with a thick coat of Wet N' Wild Wild Shine in Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope comes across as a run-of the-mill silver glitter polish in a clear base in the bottle (see the photo below). But over this color it came alive. It is crazy sparkly with hints of blue, gold, and pink when the light hits it. I can't stop staring at my hands!
I topped my nails with a thick coat of Seche Vite for extra shine and voila! Below is a photo I took this morning at work. My camera kind of sucks so it took me a few tries to get a good representation of what the finished product looks like. If you are interested in trying Kaleidoscope, Walgreens is currently having a sale on Wet N' Wild nail polish. Each bottle is only 69 cents!
