Rose and Lace Nail Art with Born Pretty Store Decals

I have a bad habit of buying nail art decorations and forgetting that I have them. While reading Lucy's Stash last week I was oohhing and ahhhing over the Born Pretty Decals that she used and kept wondering why they looked so familiar. Uhhh...that would probably be because I bought them way back in September and then completely forgot about them. High five to Lucie for reminding me! This prompted me to go through my nail art decoration stash and it was like going shopping without spending any money. And so this nail art is an attempt to thin out my unused stash and use some of the pretty things I own.

I started with two coats of Elevation Polish Limestone. For the roses I used American Apparel Rose Bowl, Port, and Zoya Katherine mixed with a little nail polish thinner for a soft  watercolor effect. For the leaves I used American Apparel Hunter and Revlon Hot For Chocolate.

For the decal I used design #210 in black and applied a layer on HK Girl Top Coat over each nail after I'd applied the decal.

I love the combination of the pattern and roses. I have more decals in my stash to try out....but I really want to buy a few more patterns as well. I know...I have a problem.

  9. Looks like fun. Don't worry, many of your readers have similar problems. Better than alcohol and drugs, right?
